Progress.
Debuted in 2019, the dedicated community around PERIOD Atlanta has jumpstarted the progress towards reaching out and helping every menstruator in Atlanta. Through 2020 and 2021, PERIOD Atlanta served organizations such as the Refugee Women's Network, Clarkston Community Health Center, and its neighbors experiencing homelessness in the city. We have donated over 13,000 menstrual products to the communities of Metropolitan Atlanta and their menstruators in need. If you would like to learn more about our progress, check out our featured work in the VoyageATL magazine below! |
Period Education.
PERIOD Atlanta has partnered with the Sierra Project Foundation to promote their new animated video comic about menstruation. The comic features a young woman who has gotten her first period. She learns what a period is, the science behind ovulation, ways to mitigate period pain, and options for menstrual products. This video is a great informational tool for girls who are just getting their period for the first time, so please share! You can download the video below.
If you would like to work on projects similar to this with us, please reach out through either our social media or our contact us page. We would love to help out in any way we can!
Moving Forward.
As we continue to forge towards a better future for Atlanta in 2022-23, PERIOD Atlanta will continue to serve menstruators in need while taking greater steps to educate the public about menstrual health — education is only one of many steps to eradicating the stigma around periods!
Along with product distribution drives, we are working on hosting workshops, panel discussions, and more featuring local medical professionals and menstrual health advocates.
